Q.

#asktheexperts --> Hello. My 21 months old babyboy has unilateral bow leg(left) and it was since 12 months. We noticed his unilateral bow leg(left) since he started walking when he was 11 and half months old. Does this need to be addressed medically or is it gonna get straightened by itself by growing age. Please kindly answer. Thank you !

A. It's considered a normal part of a child's growth and development. As a child starts walking, the bowing might increase a bit and then get better. Children who start walking at a younger age have more noticeable bowing. In most kids, the outward curving of the legs corrects on its own by age 3 or 4.
