#asktheexperts Hello doctor... my two yr old son is suffering from fever since two days we are giving him ibrufen paracetamol and Amoxicillin antibiotics ..temperature thodi der utarta hai but again hojata.pls give some advice

A. Fever is commonly seen in babies and mostly it's viral infection which is very common in children. But if fever is high grade and persisting or assosiated with specific symptoms than other causes should also be ruled out . Antipyretic like paragcetamol or ibuprofen or mefenamic acid are usually given to reduce fevcfer . Cold sponging with lukewarm water is also helpful . Doctor consultation should be done if symptoms like excessive irritability dullness loss of appetite less urine output is there .
