#asktheexperts hello doctor my baby is 5 months 24 days old I started semi solids for my baby frm 2 weeks like only purees (apple,banana,appaya) and oatmeal I wanted to ask .....can i feed cerelac to my baby? bcas many says that cerelac is not good for the baby ..it contains sugar..... so is it good to feed cerelac to my baby?

ExpertDr. Minal AcharyaNutritionist3 years agoA. dear parent, it is better to avoid giving any sort of commercially available packaged foods like cerelac. these are not as healthy as homemade food. for convenience and quick cooking, you can give homemade cereal pulse premix or homemade cerelac.
also avoid giving oats as they fill baby's small stomach and reduces the appetite for other foods. oats can be given after 2 years.
