Q.

#asktheexperts Hello doctor, I've been giving formula milk for my 1.5yr old baby. Is cow milk good? my pediatrician says that it is not okay. you may give curd ,ghee or any other products for calcium needs. Is cow milk bad? please explain.

A. no the thing is that at this age you can go for any type of milk for the child and it can be either formula milk or packet milk or powder milk or animal milk that is either buffalo milk or cow's milk for your child. initially you will have to offer outside milk in small quantity and if the child is tolerating that amount then gradually you can increase the quantity of milk but if the child is not tolerating then kinddly change the type of milk you are giving . (when you boil the animal milk and then cool it you can remove the upper layer of fat and it becomes a toned milk)

A. No cow milk is not bad you can give cows milk buffaloes milk whatever you want to give but I would suggest you to give buffaloes milk to the child which is what is going to be much healthier than cows milk so try that if your child is able to digest that well enough then you can continue with it and to start with about 20% to 30% of water to make it light and easily easily digestible for the child
