#asktheexperts Dr. my daughter is 4 years old and she has cough, so should I consult with a doctor or I can give medicine from the chemist.

A. For young babies it is advisable to consult with your doctor once and avoid giving over the counter medicines on your own. The frequency and dosage of any medication depends on the baby's weight, age and severity of the illness.
