Father of a 6 yr 8 m old boy2 weeks ago
Q.

#asktheexperts Dog bites my son Advik(6 years 7 months) on his left buttocks. I consulted the doctor on the same day he was given the first dose of Rabivax out of 5 total dose on his thigh and also Rabishield injection given on the next day on his bites area for extra safety. Then I went to the medical shop on three separate dates for 3 next Rabivax injection given on his buttocks ( 2 on right and 1 on left). Now 1 Rabivax injection dose is remaining. Now my question - Is this right to give on his buttocks? I read on the internet that don't give the injection on buttocks. The same I asked from a doctor he said we can give on buttocks if the boy is small. Please clear my doubts now what should I do?

A. Yes ma’am it can be given on the buttocks of the child there is no problem in that case and see all the information that you get online is not correct as a doctor would have a better understanding of the situation and more experience they have so I believe you should just go ahead with what your doctors advising you
