#asktheexperts does formula fed babies gain more weight as compared to breastmilk fed babies? my baby exclusively takes breastmilk and is less in weight as compared to nearby babies who are formula fed. but he has doubled his birth weight in 6 months. please guide.

A. Hello mom yes formula fed babies tend to gain more weight and espcially the ones who are exclusively formula fed tend to be obese . It’s expected that babies double up their birth weight by the age of 4 to 6 months so not to worry you and the baby are doing well
