Sitting Up: Your baby should be able to sit up with minimal support and have good head and neck control. 2. Interest in Food: If your baby shows curiosity about what you’re eating and reaches for food, it might indicate interest in solids. 3. Loss of Tongue-Thrust Reflex: Babies typically push food out of their mouths with their tongue when they’re younger. If your baby has lost this reflex, they may be ready for solids. 4. Doubling of Birth Weight: This is a common milestone that suggests your baby’s digestive system is mature enough to handle solids. Why 6 Months is Ideal: At 6 months, babies have a fully developed digestive system, and their nutritional needs can no longer be met by breast milk or formula alone. Introducing solids too early can increase the risk of food allergies and digestive problems.
