A. Blisters on the lips of a 1-month-old baby are quite common and usually not a cause for concern. These are often called "sucking blisters" or "nursing blisters", caused by the friction of frequent sucking during breastfeeding or bottle-feeding. Key Points: They appear as small, clear or yellowish blisters on the lips. Usually harmless and go away on their own as the baby adjusts to feeding. Do not pop or apply any creams unless advised by your doctor. When to worry: If the blisters: Spread or worsen, Are accompanied by fever or irritability, Or appear infected (redness, pus, swelling), Then you should consult your pediatrician promptly. Otherwise, just keep the area clean and continue feeding normally.
