it is gradual process.
for that , I advise to start with day time first.
but before that too , you need to make your child independent for some basic things which help to make your child confident .
for example
make habit to wear clothes by own.
then make habit to take nap at day time.
initially , sleep with your child for few minutes and then give comfort object like blanket or soft toy to keep along and let your child sleep alone.
