Q.

#asktheexperts baby having fever since morning, it was 100 which came down with crocin drops, now 101.2. what medicine to give. No nearby hospital for emergency.

A. Fever is a reaction of the body to different pyrogens released during any Infection. Usually temp more than 99 F is taken as fever . Mostly in children fever is because of viral infections like flu or RSV where the fever is there for 4-5 days but may persist even upto 2 weeks . Initially antipyretic like paracetamol is given in a dose of 15 mg / kg/ dose. Can be repeated after 4-6 hrs if needed .other medicine like mefenamic acid ibuprofen can also bfe given . Lukewarm sponge bath can be given as home remedy to decrease fever. Adequgate fluid intake is also beneficial. Urine output monitoring is necessary to avoid dehydration .

You continue with the same medicine only it is going to be 1.5 ML after every six hours and also when is on the higher side you start doing Thande Paani Ki Patti Sa fever crosses 102° by any chance at any given point of time go ahead with giving SOS medicine Ibujesic plus And that’s going to help introduction but please consult your doctor then tomorrowWrite Your Answer Here
