A. All the vaccination should be given according to the vaccination schedule whether the government or IAP schedule and you can discuss with your pediatrician regarding the details of the vaccination. Pulse polio immunization programme is provided by the goveryuunment to all children below 5 years of age. if your child has received polio vaccine before as per the schedule then also you should give this vaccine on the the pulse polio day as this is an additional vaccine. For polio vaccine dates and related query you need to contact your local authorities .

A. The govt issues the vaccines which do not undermine the exchequer. Some the costly vaccines are not covered like Rotavarix, PCV (pneumococcal vaccine) Hepatitis A vaccine, Chicken pox vaccine, Typhoid vaccine. If you can afford you can protect your child by vaccination with these vaccines.
