ExpertRamya RamachandranNutritionist3 years agoA. Dear ma’am, start with single ingredient based porridge like rice or ragi. Avoid salt and sugar till one year. Always start a small quantity of food initially and based on the tolerance gradually increase the quantity. Continue to encourage frequent breastfeeding as your milk still forms the major source of nourishment. Avoid cow milk till one year. At six months give one semi solid feed a day and then to two feeds a day. You can also introduce puréed banana, boiled and mashed apple, puréed papaya, boiled and mashed sweet potato, carrot etc. give few teaspoons of water after each solid feed
