Dr Sameer awadhiyaGuardian of 2 children2 years agoA. no it's not recommended because it can cause infection in the eyes further you can contact with your doctor and you can get the the solution for this by discussing with him he will guide you for more details if required .
Its always better to take the guidance by the concerned person with the geniune advice ...Cold is most of the time because of some viral infection or allergic condition and symptoms are usually sneezing, running nose, nasal congestion and fever. cough along with throat irritation are usually associated .
Treatment consists of antiallergic antipyretics analgesics and decongestants medicine .
As a home remedy steam inhalation would be very useful .
Medicines like wikoryl / tminic / Alex cold can be used in a proper dose for 3-5 days as per the symptoms .
Steam inhalation is repeated frequently .

so please don't use it
don't rely on myths , it can do no good
