Dr Vandan H KumarFather of a 7 yr 4 m old boy1 Year agoA. there is always a chance of neonatal jaundice in small children within one or maximum 2 weeks of birth in which the skin as the eyes may appear yellow.
you have to meet the doctor for evaluation of the jaundice.
normal simple jaundice will go away on its own with only breastfeeding but if it is more your doctor will advise phototherapy.
the yellowness from the eyes may take around 1 to 1 and half month to totally go away.
this can occurs due to weather changes and temperature variations or simple cold and rarely infection.
kindly give nasal saline drops (nasoclear /nasivion s)every three hourly and since it is a salt water/saline water it does not have any side effects and can be given again and again for nasal blockage and respiratory cough.
it will dissolve mucus in nose and throat.
for fever and pain give paracetamol.
anti-cold medicines at this age have got side effects so can be given only after medical consultatione.
try to prevent temperature variations around the child and you can also give indirect steam inhalation and if there is no improvement in 2 or 3 days then meet your doctor s
Sonam PrasadMom of 2 children1 Year agoA. hi dear
There are several natural remedies to treat a cold in a toddler. Some of the most common are giving them honey, hot chicken soup, warm water, and using a humidifier. However, you must also consult your pediatrician and not rely entirely on natural remedies.
