#AskTheExpert while trying to sit my 7 month old baby fall on the floor as she sitting and balance went down. evrthg seems fine now. but I am still worried whether now to check is all OK.? nothing major. can you pls guide me on this

A. OK. thank you doctor but there is no bleeding in gums or swelling on head. she is playing well and I checked on the same place again and she was normal no crying. is there anythg else I need to worry abt? I will make sure she doesn't fall next time. thank you once again.

A. Any Fall injury specially head injury needs to be assessed properly . In any such case certain symptoms needs to be checked like loss of consciousness reccurrent vomiting or any abnormal moment or convulsions . Such case needs immediate medical intervention as there could be some internal injury . Otherwise application of ice locally to reduce the swelling and pain can be done along with some analgesic like paracetamol. Recurrent fall injury for a child should be avoided as it can lead to some chronic manifestations occasionally . Also teeth injury shohuuld be rule out in any such case which is commonly associated and can be easily missed out most of the time .
