The time between birth and age 3 is an impressive period in child development, and the best educational toys for toddlers take advantage of this by helping these naturally curious kiddos learn through play.
Brands like Fisher price and Playgro have some amazing products.

Go for products like stacking rings, shape sorter, pretend play kitchen, velcro cutting vegetables, fisher price piggy bank, simple large knob puzzles like melissa and doug. Also provide the child with chalk and easel for writing and free hand drawing. Balls of different textures and sizes.

1. Puzzles - knob and two piece puzzles
2. Colouring - crayons , watercolours 
3. Lot of practical life activities - loading and unloading washing machine , drying clothes , asking to put clothes into laundry bag , watwring plants , folding clothes , filling items into box , peeling banana -orange peel , separating pomogranate pearls , separating pea from pea pod etc.
4. Remove the lids of bottles and ask kid to place it into appropriate bottles
5. Play dough - I use chapati dough. You can place straw in chapati dough and ask kid to place pasta or rubber bands into straw
6. Magnets and iron materials like coins , pins etc ( should be under supervision)
7. Activities using bubble wrap - stick it on floor and ask your kid to walk or run on that , ask to press etc
8. Toys - stacking toy , Russian doll , building blocks , nesting eggs , nuts and bolts
9. Stick cello tape on the floor and ask your kid to remove it
10. Transferring activity - transferring water from one tumbler to another( tumblers of same size ,tumblers with different sizes say big and small) transferring pulses and dals using spoon , laddle etc

Here are fw choose the toys like You can get colorful different shaped toys.. Play gym is very effective. Musical toys and speaking toys and moving toys also babies would love more.. Cloth books are alos good and attractive. you can even get bright colored books like alphabets shapers colors for them to view the bigger pictures and  colors. These will develop vision and motor skills.
