#AskTheExpert The baby has cough and the nose is blocked and is not able to sleep comfortably. Any medication that is suggested?

Dr Sameer awadhiyaGuardian of 2 children3 years agoA. Cough along with Cold most of the time is a viral illness and it needs supportive care along with proper hydration. you can give steam inhalation which is very useful .
cough needs to be treated with anti allergic and expectorant bronchodilators or antitussives medicine which should be given only after a proper evaluation by the doctor according to the type of cough.
if feverfs is there paracetamol can be given to reduce the fever and the dose can be repeated after 6 hours again if required .

Nihita mittalMom of 4 children3 years agoA. good morning I would recommend you to try to give your baby and direct steam and you can apply baby Vicks rub on the nose of the child is this will help to provide a lot of relief from the problem of nasal congestion
