#AskTheExpert Srishti is 4 years 8months old. She got cold and cough since yesterday. Could you please suggest what medications and diet recommended for her. Thank you Vijay

Dr Sameer awadhiyaGuardian of 2 children3 years agoA. Cough along with Cold most of the time is a viral illness and it needs supportive care along with proper hydration. you can give steam inhalation which is very useful .
cough needs to be treated with anti allergic and expectorant bronchodilators or antitussives medicine which should be given only after a proper evaluation by the doctor acrgccording to the type of cough.
if fever is there paracetamol can be given to reduce the fever and the dose can be repeated after 6 hours again if required .

Sinarist Can be given and also you can go ahead with giving cherry cough or Dabur Honitus that both a very good to be given you can give it for minimum three days maximum five days twice a day and you can also do it with nebulising the child if you want to
