#AskTheExpert sir, Riaan 3 years old, having cough from last 10 days. we are giving him ascoril d plus (4ml/3times) and montair lc 4ml (in night) from last 3 days. but the cough troubling a lot and spl during sleeping time. kindly suggest. regards

here the child will have regular cough and cold which is usually not associated with fever .
it increases and decreases but does not get cured completely.
dr will give anti allergic medicine usually motelukast / levocetirizine. if its still not improving the next line of treatment will be inhaler therapy witeh mdi / nebulizer.
allergy can be environmental (temperature variation -hot to cold weather/ cold water intake / dust / smoke / pollens) , food , chocolate / packet preservatives food and sweeet food also.
body cannot sustain such allergic changes leading to cough cold usually at evening /night and morning.

Warm Mustard Oil and Rock Salt Massage
Warm a bit of mustard oil and add some rock salt to it. A teaspoon of the salt is what is recommended. Once the mixture is warm enough to apply on the baby’s body, you can slowly massage his chest, back, and feet with this. It is suggested that you also cover the same with a cotton cloth, so that it can provide the required warmth for the baby to feel fine.
