#asktheexpert Sir my son is 9 months and have high fever from yesterday morning 9 and fever was on and off till night 2.30. Given paracetamol syrup every 5hrs.. Do you think we have to visit doctor today.

A. the first medicine will always be paracetamol and it is given according to weight and power of paracetamol medicine you are having. give liquids and easily digestible food and paracetamol should be given only after food. keep the child in cool environment and avoid using woolen clothes when the child is having fever armpit temperature of hundred or more is considered as fever to body sponge to decrease the surface temperature and should be carried out for at least 20 minutes with normal temperatuere water. higher medicines (ibugesic / meftal-p) whether required or not will be told by the doctor.

A. a very good morning dear parents in my opinion you should consult doctor and do proper medication of your baby because this is rainy season and may baby is having some infection so he is getting fever also give light foods and warm water to drink
