#AskTheExpert sir my son is 2 years and 4 weeks old. he resist cow's milk and keep drinking mother's milk whole night causing sleeping issues for mother. and his dependency on milk is increasing day by day. what to do. sir please guide

Dr Vandan H KumarFather of a 7 yr 4 m old boy2 years agoA. you can start night weaning for healthy breastfed children after 8-9 months of age.
but before that night weaning breastfed babies can reduce your milk supply.
reduce volume and frequency of feeding every night and it should be very gradual process
this should be done over a month otherwise breast feeding mother will have engodrgement and mastitis.
when feeding time and frequency has decreased to 1 to 1 times you can stop feeds at night time.
make sure that the child is getting full diet during the day to decrease hunger at night time
