Q.

#AskTheExpert sir my daughter is 17 month old and her weight is 8 kg. she is suffering from fever since yesterday . every 6 hrs i am giving her calpol drops 1.5 ml of 100mg but temperature is not reducing

A. Fever is a response of the body to any kind of infection or any inflammatory process in body so you can give paracetamol in a dose of 15 mg/kg/dose as the first line treatment also this dose can be agagyin repeated after every 5 to 6 hours if fever is repeating. and you can also do cold sponging of the body if required

A. may be due ti seasonal variation in a Temperature more than 99 is fever . Can Give paracetamol for fever and can be given 3 to 4 times in a day . If temperature does not comes down then give nobel plus or baby not looking well then need a examination as it may be any infection .
