A. If your 1 year 6-month-old hit the wall and has blue discoloration (bruise) on the upper gum, here’s what you should check: ✅ What to Check: 🔹 Swelling or Bleeding – Is there any continuous bleeding or excessive swelling? 🔹 Loose or Broken Teeth – Gently check if any teeth are loose or chipped. 🔹 Pain or Discomfort – Is your baby refusing to eat or drink due to pain? 🔹 Gum Injury – Look for cuts or deep wounds in the gum. 🩹 What You Can Do at Home: ✔️ Cold Compress – Apply a clean cold spoon or ice pack (wrapped in cloth) to the area for 5-10 minutes to reduce swelling. ✔️ Soft Foods – Give soft, cool foods like yogurt or mashed bananas. ✔️ Monitor for 24-48 Hours – Check for any changes in color, pain, or swelling. ✔️ Maintain Oral Hygiene – Gently clean the area with a soft cloth or baby toothbrush. 🚨 When to See a Doctor? ❌ Persistent bleeding that won’t stop. ❌ Extreme swelling or pus formation. ❌ Loose, broken, or displaced teeth. ❌ Baby is in severe pain or refusing to eat/drink. If the bruise is mild and there is no severe pain, it should heal in a few days. But if you notice any worsening symptoms, consult a pediatric dentist. Let me know if you need more help! 😊
