A. Hello A new born should be exclusively breastfed till the age of 6 months and then weaning should start At the start of the weaning liquids like thin daal, rice kanji, thin Upma or oats, steamed and puréed vegetables or fruits, soups, coconut water should be given.. make sure the consistency is very thin Start with 3 to 5 tsp twice a day and then slowly increase quantity and frequency also do not add salt and sugar to the food Follow 4 days rule that is give any new food for 4 days ans then start with new food

A. Hai good afternoon ! Until 5 completed months exclusive breast milk or formula milk is suggested. From 6 month onwards start semi solids once a day and rest of the day milk either breastfeed or formula feed. Fruits and vegetables puriees/mashes - Mashed banana, papaya puriee, chikoo puriee, Steamed and mashed potatoes, carrot, apple, dal water, rice starch, soups, idly, ragi porridge. Feed one item for 2-3 days check potty for digestion capability if you found any loose motions or allergy then avoid that item.
