A. As your baby turns 6 months, you can start with easy-to-digest, single-ingredient purees and gradually introduce new foods. Best First Foods for a 6-Month-Old ✅ Rice Cereal / Rice Porridge – Gentle on the stomach and easy to digest. ✅ Moong Dal Water – Light and protein-rich. ✅ Mashed Banana – Soft, naturally sweet, and rich in nutrients. ✅ Steamed & Mashed Apple – Good for digestion and mild in taste. ✅ Ragi Porridge – High in calcium and iron. ✅ Vegetable Purees – Carrot, pumpkin, or sweet potato (steamed & blended). Feeding Tips: ✔️ Start with 1-2 teaspoons once a day and increase gradually. ✔️ Follow the 3-day rule – Introduce one new food at a time and wait for any allergies. ✔️ No Salt, Sugar, or Cow’s Milk – Until the baby turns 1 year old. ✔️ Continue Breastfeeding/Formula – Solids are just a complementary food.
