#AskTheExpert Nivaan is 4 yeats old. he has constipation problem since 1 year. he is not potty trained also. pleas suggest solution for that. thanks

Dr. Vaibhav jainFather of a 5 yr 9 m old girl4 years agoA. it is common in kids. Constipation is very common in kids . As such medication are avoided just give more of water and more of fiber diet like green leafy vegetable and fruits to baby . Lactulose will be used as last resort as stool softener .

Encouraging your child to make simple dietary changes — such as eating more fiber-rich fruits and vegetables and drinking more water — can go a long way toward alleviating constipation.
