Q.

#asktheexpert my son's flu shot is due on 30th September,2023. but since the monsoon has started can we give him the flu shot now i.e. 2 months before

A. reply given by Dr Sameer doesn't reply to my question. this is a general response which everyone knows. what's the meaning of asking the experts then

A. Influenza vaccine or the flu vaccine is basically a vaccine which protects against different strains of flu viruses including swine Flu virus which causes symptoms specially in children because of less immunity. Though it is not a mandatory vaccine but it should be givyien to every child to protect against different flu infection which is very common every year . this vaccine is given after 6 months of age and initially two doses are given one month apart then every year single dose is required . It is not documented but still studies suggest that to some extent it may give partial protection against covid infection .
