A. It's common for breastfed babies—especially after the first few weeks—to go several days without pooping. Here’s what you should consider: 🔍 When It's Usually Normal: Your baby is exclusively breastfed. He is otherwise active, feeding well, passing gas, and not crying in pain. The stool consistency is soft or pasty when he does poop. Breast milk is easily digested, and some babies absorb almost all of it, leading to fewer stools. ⚠️ When to Be Concerned: If your baby shows any of these signs, consult your pediatrician: He seems uncomfortable, in pain, or is straining a lot. His belly feels hard or bloated. He vomits or has poor feeding. When he finally passes stool, it's very hard, or there’s blood. 👶 What You Can Do at Home (with doctor’s approval): Tummy massage: Gently massage the tummy in a clockwise motion. Bicycle legs: Move his legs in a cycling motion to relieve gas and stimulate the bowels. Warm bath: Helps relax abdominal muscles and may trigger a bowel movement. Would you like to tell me: Is he breastfed or formula-fed? Is he passing gas? Is he showing any discomfort or signs of pain? I can guide you better with that information.
