#AskTheExpert my son is of 45 days his wt is 4 kg . is it OK? Can I start to give him balguti?

A. yes, 4.5 kg weight is good.. feed as often as they seem hungry or want comforted, offer more breastfeeds, feed from both breasts at each breastfeed. If you're concerned, meet with a lactation consultant or your pediatrician.

A. hi...During the first few days after birth, babies tend to lose some weight. The average weight loss in the initial few days soon after birth is about 5-7% (200-220 gm). Your baby tends to have doubled his birth weight by the time he turns 4 to 5 months old. On average, your baby should gain about 400 to 500 gm weight per month. As per the average baby weight chart, the weight gain of your baby during 6-12 months drops to 57 to 113 grams per week. avoid giving balgutti as baby is too young u may start it after six months
