Q.

#asktheexpert my son is 6 months and he has got dengue positive and today is 3 Rd day and his fever has been reduced so how many days shld I continue giving the syrup and what care shld be taken

A. till the child recovers dengue is a viral infection. the treatment consist only of symptomatic relief for the child. you can give only paracetamol for decreasing fever along with body sponge. if it is diagnosed you have to go for blood investigation either into or three days to see for decrease in platelet. no specific treatment is given for dengue and the doctor will wait till the body recovers from dengue by itself. very important to maintain hydration by giving regular water fluids and small amount of easily digestible food. please remain in contact with your doctor for more information and any confusion

A. hi it can stay Upto week too depends on your child health condition please give more and more breastfeeds to your child which help in fast recovery give sunlight atleast 20 minutes a day take necessary follow ups from your pediatrician
