#AskTheExpert My son is 4 months old and he is having little cough but as per doc he have throat infection goe which she alreadg started antibiotic. also she suggested to use nebulizer and i am not convinvced with it rather i prefer to give steam to him, as i dont want him to get addicted to nebulizer. Please advice if i am dling right

A. Cough along with Cold most of the time is a viral illness and it needs supportive care along with proper hydration. you can give steam inhalation which is very useful . cough needs to be treated with anti allergic and expectorant bronchodilators or antitussives medicine which should be given only after a propeggr evaluation by the doctor accorrding to the type of cough. if fever is there paracetamol can be given to reduce the fever and the dose can be repeated after 6 hours again if required .
