Q.

#asktheexpert my son is 2years old.. he is not speaking yet.. he can understand what we say..he takes out hand towards what he want and now making sounds of animals what we teach... but not speaking yet.. he watches cartoon.. is it the reason for speech delay?

A. Speak slowly and clearly and keep it simple. Respond to your child's gestures. Gestures are an important part of language development. Encourage kids to respond and participate in conversations by making the connection between their gestures and language.
