POOJA KOTHARIMom of a 8 yr 5 m old boy6 months agoA. Your 1.5-month-old baby sleeping from 3 AM to 11–12 PM without waking for a feed is a bit unusual, as newborns typically wake up every 2–4 hours for feeding. However, some babies naturally have longer sleep stretches, especially if they are getting enough milk during the day.
Is This Normal?
✔ If your baby is gaining weight well, is active when awake, and has enough wet diapers (6–8 per day), then it's okay.
✔ Some babies naturally start sleeping longer at night earlier than others.
What You Can Do?
1️⃣ Wake for Feeding Every 3–4 Hours – At this age, babies need regular feeds. Try gently waking him after 4 hours at night to ensure he’s getting enough nutrition.
2️⃣ Adjust Sleep Routine – Try to wake him up earlier in the morning (by 9 AM) and expose him to daylight to regulate his internal clock.
3️⃣ Increase Daytime Feeds – If he’s sleeping longer at night, ensure he’s feeding well during the day. Offer breastmilk/formula every 2–3 hours.
When to Be Concerned?
⚠ If baby is not gaining weight properly.
⚠ If baby has fewer wet diapers than usual.
⚠ If baby appears lethargic or difficult to wake up
