Q.

#asktheexpert My son has not started talking, no words though there is babbling and seems to sing in his playtime like aaaaaa, also there is very limited interaction as it is me and him at home the whole day and he watches nursery rhymes mostly when I am busy with my household chores. he does not even address mumma and dada though these words are heard in his babbling. when I speak to him daily with words to repeat like mumma and dada he simply smiles shyly Am I to worry and visit a doctor?

A. Hello, your baby boy is 28 months old and he doesn’t talk yet so see if he has a tongue tie beneath it or he can hear or not so consult with ENT specialist

A. Hello dear parent! Few babies have delay in their speech and it is normal as long as your baby is active and healthy. Communicate more with your child. Spend more time with your child by playing and singing together. Few elders suggest to give a teaspoon of honey in the mornings for better health and speech. Speak to your doctor for further advice.
