Q.

#AskTheExpert my son has completed 9 months on 14th he is on formula milk as my milk supply is not much so now we have increased solid intake as guided by dr. In order to reduce formula milk . He is getting only 700 ml formula milk on regular basis. Is it correct . We give daily 3-4 fruits roti rice crereals.

A. maximum limit the milk to 500 ml in one day and rest focus on a proper diet for the baby. . . .as After 6 month complete you can start weaning your child with simple foods that are prepared at home or cerelac, nestum kind of Pre- prepared baby foods. At that time you can also start giving water but it is always preferable to avoid using salt sugar and honey till 1 year. Continue breastfeeding the baby but you should make sure that you are either giving breastfeed or formula Milk but not animal milk before 1 year. You can give rice porridge Ragi porridge mashed soft fruits like Banana Chiku Apple Puree and other seasonal fruits like mangoes, watermelons etc.
