#asktheexpert my son Dheer is 16 months old. Last week he had a fever of around 102 and got fits seizure. He had 103 fever when he was 1 month old but never got fits. it was some infection is it possible to have fits in this degree of fever ?

many times prophylaxis medicines to decrease the chances of seizures ixs given by the doctor which may contain anti seizures medicine as well as anti seizures nasal spray.
meet your doctor who will tell you how to use this medicines in an emergency.
at the same time it is important to get the child vaccinated for all important infectious disease as well as flu vaccine which will decrease the chances of fever in your child
this disease does not usually occur after completion of 5 years of age
at the time of initiation of fever it is important to give fever medicines immediately as well as give sponge bath to decrease the chances of seizures.
