Q.

#AskTheExpert my son aarish dharia is 6 years old and has cough since 3 weeks. one pediatrician said it's just climate and other said to do lung function test which came normal. he has no fever and just congestion.

A. my baby mahima suffering with some problem.she is just 4 mnths.she is crying continueosly for 3 to 4 hrs.doctor suggested lansoprazole for 7 days I used in the last month..now little better not completely cured..now what I will do..I can't see her problem still crying coming tears from the eyes...

A. Cough along with Cold most of the time is a viral illness and it needs supportive care along with proper hydration. you can give steam inhalation which is very useful . cough needs to be treated with anti allergic and expectorant bronchodilators or antitussives medicine which should be igggiven only after a proper evaluation by the doctor according to the type of cough. if fever is there paracetamol can be given to reduce the fever and the dose can be repeated after 6 hours again if required .
