#AskTheExpert my son aarish dharia is 6 years old and has cough since 3 weeks. one pediatrician said it's just climate and other said to do lung function test which came normal. he has no fever and just congestion.

Pragnya GurramMom of 2 children2 years agoA. my baby mahima suffering with some problem.she is just 4 mnths.she is crying continueosly for 3 to 4 hrs.doctor suggested lansoprazole for 7 days I used in the last month..now little better not completely cured..now what I will do..I can't see her problem still crying coming tears from the eyes...

Dr Sameer awadhiyaGuardian of 2 children2 years agoA. Cough along with Cold most of the time is a viral illness and it needs supportive care along with proper hydration. you can give steam inhalation which is very useful .
cough needs to be treated with anti allergic and expectorant bronchodilators or antitussives medicine which should be igggiven only after a proper evaluation by the doctor according to the type of cough.
if fever is there paracetamol can be given to reduce the fever and the dose can be repeated after 6 hours again if required .
