A. It’s quite common for a 2-month-old baby to experience irregular sleep patterns, including not sleeping well at night. At this age, babies are still developing their internal sleep-wake cycle and may struggle with nighttime sleep due to several factors: Growth Spurts – Babies experience periods of rapid growth, which can make them more fussy and awake during the night. Hunger – At 2 months, babies might still need to feed frequently, including at night. Discomfort – Issues like gas, colic, or a wet diaper could be causing discomfort, leading to disrupted sleep. Overstimulation – Too much activity before bed can make it harder for a baby to settle down. Sleep Cycle Development – Babies at this age are still learning to self-soothe and regulate their sleep cycles. It’s important to create a calming bedtime routine, keep the baby in a dim, quiet environment, and ensure frequent feedings to meet their nutritional needs. If the baby continues to have significant difficulty sleeping or shows signs of discomfort (like excessive crying or fever), it’s worth checking with a pediatrician to rule out any underlying issues.
