Q.

#asktheexpert My kid is not regularly pooping. he is resisting himself and is now pooping only once in a week. Poop looks normal and isn't hard or dark even though he poops after a gap. I tried hard to potty train but he strongly resists to sit on the potty or toilet seat even. Always poops in a standing position too how can I resolve this.

A. Make potty training a fun activity. Sit near tge child , sing rhymes, encourage him with stickers every time he poops in the potty and then once he collects 10 stickers give him a gift.

A. Some kids can be resistant. You have to take this on gradually. The child may be stressed out because of the fear to sit on the potty as a result of which he is trying to avoid it. As he is above 2 years old pooping on a daily basis will be good for his gut health. So even if he is standing and pooping let him do that. First regularize his pooping habit. Then when he is comfortable you can go for potty training.
