#AskTheExpert my kid is 1 year old she has cold with fever from last 3 days and has phlegm in throat which she gulps . night times she is not able to sleep due to irritation of throat because of phlegm and congestion. We have used maxtra syrup for 3 days ,3 times a day . now she is not taking feed properly . could you please recommend any alternative medicine to make her feel better from congestion

ExpertDr Disha PatelAyurvedic Physician4 years agoA. stick to the good home remedies like steaming, applying and massaging heated mustard oil to your baby's chest and back, increased breastfeeding, plenty of rest/sleep, and using nasal saline drops.Roast the Ajwain n rock salt and take a soft muslin cloth and make a potli .. when warm apply gently on chest and back for chest congestion
