#asktheexpert my kid got cough and cold, already gave the medication but still cough is there in nose. Mornings time nose is very stuffy, should I visit to pediatrician again? His age is 4 months

ShrutiMom of 2 children1 Year agoA. Here are some remedies which worked for my Baby. (1) Dry roast Ajwain, Garlic and Camphor on gas. Keep it in Cotton cloth and tie. Make potli and tie in baby's neck so that the aroma goes into the nose. If you are not able to tie it, keep it near baby's nose so that he/she inhales it. (2) Heat 1 tablespoon of mustard oil, with 1 fat garlic clove and a pinch of ajwain powder for 1 minute, taking care not to burn the garlic completely. Hello there ma’am please do not worry about it too much. nasal saline drops can be given again and again to the child because it is salt water which will help in decreasing the nasal blockage by clearing the mucus try to prevent temperature variations around the child which is the most common cause of cough and cold in small children.can give indirect steam inshalation . anti-cold medicines at this age have got side effects so can be given only after medical consultation. You can also rub Vicks Vaporub on baby clothes near chest area. Thanks and take care
