#AskTheExpert my don is suffering from cough. medicine lavosalbutamol prescribed by doctor already given but improvement is minimal.

Dr Sameer awadhiyaGuardian of 2 children3 years agoA. Cough along with Cold most of the time is a viral illness and it needs supportive care along with proper hydration. you can give steam inhalation which is very useful .
cough needs to be treated with anti allergic and expectorant bronchodilators or antitussifves medicine whiivch should be given only after a proper evaluation by the doctor according to the type of cough.
if fever is there paracetamol can be given to reduce the fever and the dose can be repeated after 6 hours again if required .

Take sunbath daily with head and ears covered in the morning
smell garlic and onion pods
take a sip of water half an hour in the day time
don't use demineralized water
use simply purifed water having tds higher than 350
