A. It's common for babies to experience changes in their sleep patterns as they grow. Around 7 months, babies may start going through growth spurts, teething, or developmental milestones that can affect their sleep. While some babies sleep through the night, others may wake up due to various reasons, including hunger, discomfort, or simply a need for comfort and reassurance. Here are a few tips that may help: 1. Solid Foods: If your baby is not already eating solids, you might want to introduce them (consult your pediatrician for timing). Full meals during the day might help keep her fuller for longer, reducing nighttime feedings. 2. Consistent Sleep Routine: A consistent bedtime routine can signal to your baby that it’s time to sleep. This might include activities like bathing, reading, or gentle rocking. 3. Comfort: Sometimes babies wake up for comfort rather than hunger. You might try soothing her back to sleep without feeding if you're comfortable with that. Gentle rocking or patting might help her settle. 4. Teething or Growth Spurts: These are common reasons for waking up at night. If teething is the cause, you might try offering a teething ring or a gentle pain reliever after consulting your doctor. 5. Gradual Weaning from Night Feeds: If your baby is older and you want to reduce nighttime feedings, you can try gradually reducing the amount of milk during night feeds over time, making them shorter or waiting a little longer before responding. If the night awakenings continue for a long time or are particularly difficult to manage, it may help to discuss the issue with your pediatrician to rule out any underlying causes.
