Q.

#asktheexpert my daughter throws up milk after being fed and gets lots hiccups, she also feels like vomiting after I lay her down for a nap. can y help?

A. thanks to all who have responded to my question. I understand hiccups r normal but why does she throw up milk and why does she feel like vomiting after feeding

A. According to the details mentioned by you here this is considered as to be normal but if you still have doubts regarding this and that this might be something else than you can consult your doctor for further guidance and suggestions about it till then you can keep this under your keen observation for time.jd

A. hiccups in children occur due to gas which is present in the stomach. during the feeding process child takes air along with milk and that air goecs inside the stomach which irritates leading to hiccups. you have to offer feeding as well as do proper burping(for atleast 20 minutes) to decrease this problem and it is a self limiting problem

A. hi dear It's perfectly normal for a newborn to get a case of the hiccups. In fact, some babies even get the hiccups before they're born, starting around month 6 of your pregnancy, when your baby's lungs start developing (if you ever noticed regular little spasms in your abdomen, that's what they likely were).
