#AskTheExpert my daughter motion is very thin and full of mucus . sometimes point like blood s seen in her stool. thulasi, karpooravali kashayam is given for cold from that it is happening ..what s the solution for this

Janani ViswanathanMom of 2 children4 years agoA. I can see the child is 4 months old. You should not be giving tulasi or karpooravalli now. It can be harsh on the baby's tummy. This could be causing blood in stools. For cold, You can give indirect steam bath. If Breastfeeding u can add more garlic in ur diet which will help the baby's cold or cough and will also improve lactation. If there is any nasal congestion u can use nasal drops prescribed by ur pediatrician. You cannot do much other home remedies for babies under six months. So if the cold or cough seems to get severe it's good to consult with your pediatrician.
