Q.

#AskTheExpert my daughter is 9 months old.she developed the habit of putting her fingers in her mouth.tried alot so tht she can leave the habit but she couldn't sleep without this and starts crying if I try to remove it . can you suggest any ointment or bitter medicine which can help her to stop this habit or how can I stop this.

A. we ll slowly she will stop.See it looks ok only.but if you doubt then for your satisfaction show to a doctor there as they can examine the patient and give even a better opinion in this case .

A. Babies have natural rooting and sucking reflexes, which can cause them to put their thumbs or fingers into their mouths — sometimes even before birth. Because thumb sucking makes babies feel secure, some babies might eventually develop a habit of thumb sucking when they're in need of soothing or going to sleep.
