#AskTheExpert My daughter is 8 months old, she gets constipated motion given Lactulose for 7 days after doctors advise still the motions are not soft please advise if i should till give the same to her and for how long more. Also please advise what i should include in her diet for normal regular motions

It is normal for the baby to not pass motion freely even for up to one week if the baby is on breastfeeding so no need to worry . if it is above one week or baby s in trouble then you can apply glycerine suppository for easy motion of the baby . no syrup for medicine is given orally till 2 years of age for constipation by self as not recommended.
