#asktheexpert My daughter is 7 months 15 days old. she is on solid thrice a day (i.e breakfast lunch & dinner) she poops 3-4 times a days. today the color of her poop was pale yellow(whitish type) clay like. is this normal or there is something to worry about?

A. If your child is straining while making a bowel movement, this may be a sign of constipation. Constipated babies often produce very hard, clay-like stools. Hard stools can be difficult to pass, so they may push or strain more than usual to pass the waste. They may also be fussy and cry when having a bowel movement.
