A. Once your baby is six months old, you can in theory give him most foods, and try new ones quite quickly. Here are some foods you may wish to begin with: purées of vegetables such as carrots (gajar), pumpkin (kaddu), potato (aloo), peas (matar), sweet potato (shakarkandi), sponge gourd (tori), ash gourd (petha kaddu), broccoli (hari gobhi) or cauliflower (gobhi)fruit purée, such as ripe cooked apple (seb), stewed pear (nashpati), mango (aam) or papaya (papita) or mashed fruit such as ripe avocado (makkanphal) or banana (kela), muskmelon (kharbooja), watermelon (tarbooj) or sapota (cheeku)age-appropriate baby cereals, such as iron-fortified baby rice or cereal mixed with your baby's usual milk
